Day 1: Arrive Budapest (D)

Welcome to Budapest! You will be met and transferred from the airport to the dock. A warm welcome awaits you from your Captain and crew as you board your luxury Evergreen Tours river cruise ship. After boarding, enjoy some time at your leisure to explore Budapest. This evening join your fellow travellers for a night-time cruise along the Danube, passing under the city’s numerous bridges, whilst enjoying a traditional Hungarian welcome dinner complete with folk dancing and music.

Day 2: Budapest (B,L,D)

Budapest is Eastern Europe’s liveliest and most cosmopolitan city. Enjoy a guided tour of the city sights including the Royal Palace of Buda, hilltop castle complex and the Chain Bridge linking Buda and Pest. This afternoon you depart for Bratislava.

Day 3: Bratislava (B,L,D)

This morning we arrive at the city of Bratislava, capital of the Republic of Slovakia. Enjoy a sightseeing tour including the enchanting Old City with its Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and the Gothic Cathedral of St Martin. You’re Invited: The highlight will be a home hosted afternoon tea with a local Slovakian family.

Day 4: Vienna (B,L,D)

Today we explore Austria’s capital beginning with a drive along the Ringstrasse, where we will see Vienna’s world-famous Opera House, Burgtheatre, Spanish Riding School, Town Hall, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Hofburg Imperial Palace. Then you have free time to sample the wonderful tastes of Vienna.

Day 5: Dürnstein - Melk (B,L,D)

In the morning we arrive in Dürnstein, one of the most enchanting villages of the Wachau wine region. This is the site of the castle where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned after returning from the crusades in the 12th century. Thereafter you drive through the picturesque landscape of this district to the 900-year old Benedictine Abbey of Melk, which features Austria’s finest Italian baroque architecture. Emerald Active: Guided bike tour along the Danube River (active fitness level) or a guided hike to Durnstein Castle (active fitness level recommended – actual hike)

Day 6: Passau (B,L,D)

Cruise along the Danube this morning, in the afternoon we reach Passau. Cobblestone streets and graceful arcades welcome you in this beautiful city. On this afternoon’s walking tour, stroll through the old town’s narrow alleys and see the hilltop Oberhaus Fortress from the town below. Visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a wonderful example of Baroque architecture and home to Europe’s largest church organ with more than 17,000 pipes.

Day 7: Regensburg - Kelheim (B,L,D)

After breakfast we arrive in magnificent Regensburg. On our guided walking tour you’ll have the chance to see one of the oldest bridges crossing the Danube and see the city’s architectural highlights including the Old Town Hall. You’re Invited: Tonight, enjoy a Bavarian band on board.

Day 8: Nuremberg (B,L,D)

Your included choices today include a sightseeing tour of the historic city of Nuremberg. See the storybook 900-year-old ramparts, the Imperial Castle and the Justice Palace where the War Crimes Tribunal sat in 1946. The city tour leads you to the major sights, from the early beginnings to the present. Alternatively, journey to the Nazi party rally grounds, where rallies were held from 1933 until 1938 and take a self-guided tour of the WWII Documentation Centre. You’re Invited: This evening enjoy an EU Lecture.

Day 9: Bamberg (B,L,D)

This morning we arrive at Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Boasting one of Europe’s largest intact medieval town centres, Bamberg is bursting with original character and charm. At the centre of the town is the largest preserved old quarter in Europe.

Day 10: Würzburg (B,L,D)

Known as the “Pearl of the Romantic Road”, Würzburg is surrounded by sloping hills covered with vineyards. Join our guide for a walking tour of Würzburg followed by a visit to the Bishops’ Residenz, one of Germany’s largest and most ornate baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 11: Miltenberg (B,L,D)

Travel to the picturesque village of Miltenberg on the Main River. The village creates an imitable feeling of Bavarian life in the middle ages and the Old Town is lined with well-preserved half-timbered buildings. The gothic Merchant Hall is an impressive symbol of past affluence created by trade from river traffic. Take a guided tour of Miltenberg village or join Emerald Active: A guided hike up to Wertheim Castle (active fitness level).

Day 12: Rüdesheim - Koblenz (B,L,D)

After breakfast arrive at Rüdesheim, one of Germany’s most popular towns. Enjoy free time to take the cable car up to the impressive Germania monument with stunning views of the Rhine Valley. Today’s cruising will be a highlight of your trip, as we cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. We’ll pass the infamous Lorelei Rock where sailors are said to have been lured onto treacherous rocks by enchanted temptresses. In the early evening we arrive into the beautiful 2,000 year old town of Koblenz.

Day 13: Koblenz - Cologne (B,L,D)

The ship sails from Koblenz in the early morning, cruising along the Rhine we arrive in Cologne. Founded by the Romans, Cologne is one of Germany’s oldest cities and is famous for its magnificent World-heritage listed Gothic Cathedral and market squares lined with cafes, shops and beer halls. This evening the captain will be delighted to welcome you to the Captain’s Gala Dinner.

Day 14: Cruising - Amsterdam (B,L,D)

The ship sails along the Amsterdam Rijnkanaal and into Amsterdam. This afternoon join a glass top canal boat cruise and explore Amsterdam’s maze of canals or Emerald Active: take a guided walking tour around the famous landmarks of Amsterdam. You then have free time in the afternoon to visit the Rijks Museum or Van Gogh Museum, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere and watch the world go by. This evening join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner.

Day 15: Disembark Amsterdam - Copenhagen (B,D)

After breakfast, it's time to farewell your fellow guests and transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Copenhagen (flight not included). Depending on your flight connections enjoy free time in the afternoon before boarding your Princess Cruise ship at the cruise terminal. A warm welcome from your ship's crew as you settle into your balcony cabin, with an evening departure and your first night's dinner on board, followed by evening entertainment.

Day 16: Oslo, Norway (B,L,D)

Scandinavia's oldest capital city boasts a sophisticated lifestyle, with a blend of 19th and 20th century buildings, with the surrounding countryside a paradise for lovers of winter sports. Enjoy the whole day free to explore the city, perhaps visit the many museums, or join one of the shore excursions offered on board as part of a programme available.

Day 17: At Sea (B,L,D)

Sweden's west coast features picturesque villages and a series of islands which are the country's favourite holiday destination. Spend the day at sea and enjoy the facilities on board.

Day 18: Warnemunde - Berlin (B,L,D)

Warnemunde is a seaside resort near the harbour entrance to Rostock, one of the city-states formed in the medieval ages. Join an optional excursion to Germany's capital, Berlin, one of Europe's most interesting cities with sites including the restored Reichstag Building with its magnificent glass dome, the Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie. Stroll the shops of West Berlin along Kurfurstendamn and explore the Cold War hotspots of the former East Berlin.

Day 19: At Sea (B,L,D)

Enjoy the facilities on board today as you sail North-East passing the Polish and Lithuanian coasts. Each sailing day features presentations and special performances on board.

Day 20: Tallinn, Estonia (B,L,D)

The small nation of Estonia has survived a turbulent history having been conquered by Europe's powerful armies over centuries, and more recently as a part of the Soviet Union. Independence in 1991 opened the capital, Tallinn, in particular as a tourist destination, with its medieval town square and cobbled stoned streets attracting interest, as well as its busy port opening up for cruise ships.

Day 21: St Petersburg, Russia (B,L,D)

The architects of Russia created what is now known as St Petersburg, one of the world's most beautiful cities perched on the banks of the River Neva. The city has witnessed the rise and fall of Imperial Russia and was a symbol of resistance in World War II. Now a repository of priceless art in the Hermitage Museum, it is home to poets, musicians and composers, as well as being the gateway to the Baltic Sea for this new country stretching its influence to the west. Enjoy two full days of sightseeing, with the opportunity to join excursions organised by your ship travel desk on board.

Day 22: St Petersburg, Russia (B,L,D)

Enjoy your second day of sightseeing in St Petersburg with the opportunity to join excursions organised by your ship travel desk on board.

Day 23: Helsinki, Finland (B,L,D)

Striking modern architecture and spacious boulevards dominate Finland's capital, as well as graceful neoclassical buildings dating from the Tsarist rule of the 18th century. Helsinki balances an unusual blend of east and west, with a healthy respect for design and the arts.

Day 24: Stockholm, Sweden (B,L,D)

The small rocky harbor of Nynashamn is your gateway port to Stockholm, the "Capital of Scandinavia." The city began life over seven centuries ago as a Viking stronghold built on the island of Gamla Stan. Today, Stockholm covers 14 separate islands and is interwoven with bays, channels and inlets. The city skyline is a sea of copper roofs grown green with patina, towers, spires and graceful cupolas stand sentinel over the historic Old Town (Gamla Stan). A city of nearly a million people, Stockholm is one of the world's most beautiful, clean, and orderly metropolises.

Day 25: At Sea (B,L,D)

Entertainment on board continues for your final nights and full day at sea following the Swedish coastline.

Day 26: Copenhagen Disembarkation (B)

Bid a fond farewell to your captain and crew as you disembark your Princess cruise in Copenhagen, the city founded on a series of islands laced with graceful canals. Perhaps book extra nights in a hotel and explore the old harbour of Nyhavn, lined with cafes, restaurants and 500 year old gabled houses.
