Day 1: Arrive New York

Welcome to the USA! On arrival at New York Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: New York City Sightseeing (B,D)

Be guided on a New York City tour starting with a visit to the ‘Top of the Rock’. Take a walk in Central Park, then continue to Times Square the home of Broadway. Pass some of New York’s most notable buildings and architecture before viewing the 9/11 memorial. You're Invited: Enjoy a welcome dinner followed by an entertaining Broadway show. Known as the pinnacle of theatrical performance this truly is a special event.

Day 3: New York - Lancaster - Gettysburg (B,D)

Make our way through Lancaster County, home to the religious Amish and Mennonite communities who are known for their simple and traditional lives. You're Invited: We are joined by a local guide for a tour around the Amish countryside. Continue to the historically significant town of Gettysburg where the Battle of Gettysburg was fought.

Day 4: Gettysburg - Washington D.C (B,D)

This morning we head to the Gettysburg National Military Park and Museum for a guided tour of the battlefields. Gettysburg was the war's bloodiest battle with 51,000 casualties and it was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's immortal "Gettysburg Address". We then travel to the nations great capital, Washington D.C.

Day 5: Washington D.C. (B)

Our local guide joins us for a city tour as we view such highlights as the U.S. Capitol Building, the F.B.I. Building, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, the White House and Arlington National Cemetery including the site of the John F. Kennedy Memorial.

Day 6: Washington D.C. - Shenandoah National Park (B,D)

Make our way to Mt Vernon, the estate of George Washington. This offers a chance to understand America’s first hero. Continue to the mountains of Shenandoah National Park. Wind along the mountaintops and stop at some spectacular viewpoints.

Day 7: Shenandoah National Park - Williamsburg (B,D)

Discover Colonial Williamsburg and immerse ourselves in the 18th century capital city of Virginia. Explore the revolutionary city and become a part of the recreation that brings history alive. Tonight dine at an historic local tavern.

Day 8: Williamsburg - Kill Devil Hills - New Bern (B)

Day 9: New Bern - Charleston (B,D)

Make our way to the city that inspired the famous dance, Charleston. Charleston is the oldest city in South Eastern USA and it is known for its rich historical charm and well-preserved architecture. Take a guided tour through Charleston's 300 year old historic district. Make our way past mansions, gardens and churches and wander along The Battery, a seaside promenade lined with stately homes.

Day 11: Charleston - Savannah (B,D)

Head to picturesque Beaufort, a quaint southern town full of character. Continue to the attractive town of Savannah containing one of the largest historic districts in the United States. We're joined by a local guide as we uncover cobble stoned streets, oak lined alleys, exquisite southern mansions, beautiful squares and a picturesque riverfront. Tonight dine in a restored 18th Century cotton warehouse.

Continue our journey to Atlanta, a world class modern city with a rich and passionate history. This afternoon we visit the global headquarters of CNN.

Journey to Nashville or "Music City" the home of country music. Walk the famous Honky Tonk Row. You're Invited: Take a guided tour of the Ryman Auditorium, followed by dinner and a show at the Grand Ole Opry.

Day 16: Nashville - Memphis (B,D)

Travel to Memphis, the blues capital of the world. Visit Graceland, the home of "The King", Elvis Presley. Explore his mansion and see his private costumes, gold records and awards. You're Invited: Head to B.B. King Blues Club. Enjoy southern dishes as you listen to the best of Memphis music.

Tour the famous Sun Studio, known as the birthplace of rock 'n roll. The rest of the day is free for you to discover Memphis.

Day 18: Memphis - 7 Night Mississippi Cruise (B,D)

Transfer to the pier to board your magnificent steamboat. Day 19: Greenville (B,L,D)

Greenville is at the very heart and soul of Mississippi Delta and is the birthplace of B.B. King and many other blues singers, so naturally Greenville has Blues integrated into its culture. The town is also known for its many authors and writers, gardens and museums. This beautiful town is sure to win your heart with its southern charm and soul!

Day 20: Vicksburg (B,L,D)

Discover a unique blend of old and new in Vicksburg. Take in the diversity from National Historic Landmarks to the Anchuca Mansion. Visit the Church of the Holy Trinity and a wide selection of museums.

Day 21: Natchez (B,L,D)

Step into the plantation lifestyle of the antebellum south in Natchez. Visit King’s Tavern and Charboneau Distillery, tour antebellum mansions and take a tour of Stanton Hall which was built in 1857 and is considered the grandest of the Natchez mansions. Also see Magnolia Hall, Rosalie Mansion and William Johnson House.

Day 22: St Francisville (B,L,D)

This quaint town located on the bluffs of the Mississippi River is your window to the past. With over 140 buildings on the National Register, beautiful plantation homes nestled in the rolling countryside, and bustling Main Street shops, you’ll find plenty to keep you interested.

Day 23: Baton Rouge (B,L,D)

The capital of Louisiana, visitors delight in the seamless blend of past and present. Tour the USS Kidd, St. Joseph Cathedral, the Louisiana State Capitol building, Old Arsenal Museum and the Capitol Park Museum.

Day 24: Nottoway (B,L,D)

Enjoy an included tour of Nottoway Plantation, the South’s largest remaining antebellum mansion. This stunning historical plantation lies between Baton Rouge and New Orleans and offers a view of a truly grand plantation. Enjoy a guided tour of an American Castle as we explore within the pristine walls of Nottoway followed by a stroll through the lush grounds and gardens.

Day 25: New Orleans (B,D)

Disembark early this morning and transfer to your hotel. New Orleans is the home of Jazz and is steeped in a history of influences from Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and beyond. Our local guide joins us for a tour of the French Quarter which is the oldest neighbourhood and cultural hub. Visit an historic cemetery, referred to as the “City of the Dead”, then visit St Charles Avenue and the Garden District which is home to some of the best preserved Southern mansions in the country.
