Day 1: Arrive Prague

Welcome to Prague, one of Europe’s magical cities. Situated on the banks of the River Vltava in central Bohemia, this beautiful city is rich in history and is home to some of the world’s most pristine collections of architecture. You will be met at Prague International Airport and transferred to your centrally located hotel. This evening meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a welcome drink.
Three Night Stay: Prague

Day 2: Prague Sightseeing (B,D)

This morning we explore the sights of the Old Town Square on a guided walking tour. We see Mozart´s Theatre, Little Square and the Astronomical Clock. Walk across the Charles Bridge spanning the River Vltava, to board our coach to drive to the 1,000-year-old Prague Castle area. With our local guide we walk through Hradcany Square, and see the magnificent Loreta Monastery, and arrive at Hradcany Castle. Here we see Old Kings Palace and St. George´s Monastery. This evening we enjoy a night of dancing and entertainment at a Czech Highlight Dinner in a local tavern.

Day 3: Prague Day at Leisure (B)

Your Tour Director is on hand to help plan your day. The baroque quarter of Mala Strana is a must see, as is Josefov, the Jewish quarter. You will no doubt return to the lively atmosphere around the Charles Bridge for another look.

Day 4: Prague - Budapest Embarkation (B,D)

This morning travel by coach from Prague to Budapest. A warm welcome awaits you from your Captain and crew as you board your luxury Evergreen Tours river cruise ship. This evening join your fellow travellers for a welcome cocktail reception followed by a night-time cruise along the Danube, whilst enjoying a traditional Hungarian welcome dinner complete with folk dancing and music. Cruise past the Parliament building and see Fishermans Bastion and the city's bridges lit up.

Day 5: Budapest (B,L,D)

Budapest is Eastern Europe’s liveliest and most cosmopolitan city. Enjoy a guided tour of the city sights including the Royal Palace of Buda, hilltop castle complex and the Chain Bridge linking Buda and Pest. This afternoon you depart for Bratislava.

Day 6: Bratislava (B,L,D)

This morning we arrive at the city of Bratislava, capital of the Republic of Slovakia. Enjoy a sightseeing tour including the enchanting Old City with its Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and the Gothic Cathedral of St Martin. You’re Invited: The highlight will be a home hosted afternoon tea with a local Slovakian family.

Day 7: Vienna (B,L,D)

Today we explore Austria’s capital beginning with a drive along the Ringstrasse, where we will see Vienna’s world-famous Opera House, Burgtheatre, Spanish Riding School, Town Hall, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Hofburg Imperial Palace. Then you have free time to sample the wonderful tastes of Vienna.

Day 8: Dürnstein - Melk (B,L,D)

In the morning we arrive in Dürnstein, one of the most enchanting villages of the Wachau wine region. This is the site of the castle where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned after returning from the crusades in the 12th century. Thereafter you drive through the picturesque landscape of this district to the 900-year old Benedictine Abbey of Melk, which features Austria’s finest Italian baroque architecture. Emerald Active: Guided bike tour along the Danube River (active fitness level) or a guided hike to Durnstein Castle (active fitness level recommended – actual hike)

Day 9: Passau (B,L,D)

Cruise along the Danube this morning, in the afternoon we reach Passau. Cobblestone streets and graceful arcades welcome you in this beautiful city. On this afternoon’s walking tour, stroll through the old town’s narrow alleys and see the hilltop Oberhaus Fortress from the town below. Visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral, a wonderful example of Baroque architecture and home to Europe’s largest church organ with more than 17,000 pipes.

Day 10: Regensburg - Kelheim (B,L,D)

After breakfast we arrive in magnificent Regensburg. On our guided walking tour you’ll have the chance to see one of the oldest bridges crossing the Danube and see the city’s architectural highlights including the Old Town Hall. You’re Invited: Tonight, enjoy a Bavarian band on board.

Day 11: Nuremberg (B,L,D)

Your included choices today include a sightseeing tour of the historic city of Nuremberg. See the storybook 900-year-old ramparts, the Imperial Castle and the Justice Palace where the War Crimes Tribunal sat in 1946. The city tour leads you to the major sights, from the early beginnings to the present. Alternatively, journey to the Nazi party rally grounds, where rallies were held from 1933 until 1938 and take a self-guided tour of the WWII Documentation Centre. You’re Invited: This evening enjoy an EU Lecture.

Day 12: Bamberg (B,L,D)

This morning we arrive at Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Boasting one of Europe’s largest intact medieval town centres, Bamberg is bursting with original character and charm. At the centre of the town is the largest preserved old quarter in Europe.

Day 13: Würzburg (B,L,D)

Known as the “Pearl of the Romantic Road”, Würzburg is surrounded by sloping hills covered with vineyards. Join our guide for a walking tour of Würzburg followed by a visit to the Bishops’ Residenz, one of Germany’s largest and most ornate baroque palaces and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 14: Miltenberg (B,L,D)

Travel to the picturesque village of Miltenberg on the Main River. The village creates an imitable feeling of Bavarian life in the middle ages and the Old Town is lined with well-preserved half-timbered buildings. The gothic Merchant Hall is an impressive symbol of past affluence created by trade from river traffic. Take a guided tour of Miltenberg village or join Emerald Active: A guided hike up to Wertheim Castle (active fitness level).

Day 15: Rüdesheim - Koblenz (B,L,D)

After breakfast arrive at Rüdesheim, one of Germany’s most popular towns. Enjoy free time to take the cable car up to the impressive Germania monument with stunning views of the Rhine Valley. Today’s cruising will be a highlight of your trip, as we cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. We’ll pass the infamous Lorelei Rock where sailors are said to have been lured onto treacherous rocks by enchanted temptresses. In the early evening we arrive into the beautiful 2,000 year old town of Koblenz.

Day 16: Koblenz - Cologne (B,L,D)

The ship sails from Koblenz in the early morning, cruising along the Rhine we arrive in Cologne. Founded by the Romans, Cologne is one of Germany’s oldest cities and is famous for its magnificent World-heritage listed Gothic Cathedral and market squares lined with cafes, shops and beer halls. This evening the captain will be delighted to welcome you to the Captain’s Gala Dinner.

Day 17: Cruising - Amsterdam (B,L,D)

The ship sails along the Amsterdam Rijnkanaal and into Amsterdam. This afternoon join a glass top canal boat cruise and explore Amsterdam’s maze of canals or Emerald Active: take a guided walking tour around the famous landmarks of Amsterdam. You then have free time in the afternoon to visit the Rijks Museum or Van Gogh Museum, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere and watch the world go by. This evening join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner.

Day 18: Disembarkation Amsterdam - London (B)

After breakfast we journey by coach to Brussels and board the high-speed Eurostar train service taking you under the English Channel, to London, the royal and intriguing English Capital.

Day 19: London Sightseeing (B,D)

Enjoy the city sights with an included half day sightseeing tour. Firstly, admire Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Then drive through the West End, seeing Downing Street, Trafalgar Square and Nelson’s Column. Now walk with your guide to Buckingham Palace to witness the pomp and pageantry of the Changing of the Guard. Lastly, drive along Piccadilly, past Green Park and the Ritz, to finish in the heart of the West End. This evening enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 20: London Day at Leisure (B)

Today is at leisure for you to explore the rest of London. Take in the views from the London Eye, shop along Oxford Street or visit the crown jewels in the Tower of London.

Day 21: Depart London (B)

After breakfast you will be transferred to London Heathrow Airport for your onward or home bound flight.
