Day 1: Lima, Peru

Bienvenido! Welcome to Lima, the capital of Peru. You will be met and transferred to your downtown hotel. This evening meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a tour briefing.
Two Night Stay: Lima

Day 2: Lima (B,D)

This morning enjoy a tour of the historical centre of Lima. Walk the famous Jiron de la Union and visit the main plaza which houses the Presidential & Municipal Palaces. You're Invited: Tonight take a guided tour of the Larco Museum housing one of the best collections of Inca and pre Inca artefacts. Afterwards enjoy a traditional dinner at the museum.

Day 3: Lima - Sacred Valley (B,D)

Fly to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital set high in the Andes Mountains. Drive to the Sacred Valley, stopping off at Awana Kancha llama farm and textile centre, then visit the colourful town of Pisac with its traditional markets.

Day 4: Sacred Valley (B)

Enjoy a walking tour of the town of Ollantaytambo, You're Invited: We will then visit a local community which will give you the chance to meet the students and teachers at the local school.

Day 5: Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu (B,D)

Board the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu. Mystery still surrounds these well preserved ruins and your expert local guide will share stories and knowledge to reveal some of the mysteries of this “Lost City of the Incas”.

Day 6: Machu Picchu - Cuzco (B)

Board the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo. Return by coach to Cuzco.
Three Night Stay: Cuzco

Day 7: Cuzco (B,D)

Be guided on a walking tour of Cuzco, the former capital of the Incas. Explore the main plaza and its surrounding cathedrals, walk cobblestone streets past ancient Inca buildings to Cuzco’s fascinating central market. Finish with a visit to Inca ruins including the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Tonight dine at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Cuzco (B)

Today is free to explore Cuzco.

Day 9: Cuzco - Puno (B,L,D)

Make your way to Lake Titicaca, the birthplace of the Inca Empire. Visit the charming highland village of Andahuaylillas before arriving in Puno.

Day 10: Lake Titicaca - Lima (B)

Enjoy an excursion to the floating islands of Uros. Made of the hollow totora reeds, entire communities are built on these fascinating islands. Afterwards fly to Lima.

Day 11: Lima - Iguazú Falls, Brazil (B)

Fly to the World Heritage listed Iguazú Falls.

See the Argentinian side of the falls to the ‘Devil’s Throat’ viewpoint.

Day 13: Iguazú Falls - Rio de Janeiro (B)

Visit the majestic Brazilian falls before flying to Rio de Janeiro.

Day 14: Rio de Janeiro (B,D)

Tour the marvellous sights of Rio de Janeiro. This evening feast like a local at a Brazilian Churrascaria.

Today is free to explore Rio.

Day 17: Argentinian Ranch - Buenos Aires (B,L)

Explore the farm then feast on a traditional lunch before making our way to Buenos Aires.

Day 20: Buenos Aires - 14 night cruise (B,D)

Transfer to the pier and board your luxurious cruise ship, Holland America's MS Zaandam. Check into your comfortable Outside Stateroom (upgrade to Balcony Stateroom additional expense) and settle-in for an unforgettable voyage around Cape Horn and through the magnificent Chilean Fjords.

Day 21: Buenos Aires (B,L,D)

Make use of the wide variety of on board facilities or go ashore to make the most of your final day in this fascinating city. Perhaps take a day trip to beautiful Colonia, catch a soccer match or take a Tango lesson (all excursions at your own expense).

Day 22: Montevideo, Uruguay (B,L,D)

Montevideo is a charming and friendly city with colonial customs. The old town is a delight to wander around. Nearby is Colonia del Sacramento, the oldest city in Uruguay and a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Day 23: At Sea (B,L,D)

Today is a day of relaxation as you cruise south towards the Falkland Islands.

Day 24: At Sea (B,L,D)

Take advantage of the ship’s many outstanding facilities, or simply watch the scenery glide by.

Day 25: Falkland Islands (B,L,D)

Reach the remote Falkland Islands, a country with a long and fascinating history, unique culture and natural beauty. Weather permitting, we visit the capital Port Stanley, which is easily explored on foot. Further afield there are large colonies of king, gentoo and magellan penguins (shore excursions at own expense).

Day 26: Strait of Magellan (B,L,D)

Cruise back to the mainland and the spectacular Patagonian Argentina. The Strait of Magellan lies between mainland South America and the island of Tierra del Fuego (the land of fire). It is a narrow and important stretch of water and an important trade route. Lined with snowbound mountains and forest it is often likened to the Inside Passage in Alaska.

Day 27: Punta Arenas, Cockburn Channel, Beagle Channel & Glacier Alley (B,L,D)

Punta Arenas grew to prominence due to trade through the Magellan Strait. Today it is the largest town and the capital of Southern Chile. Highly recommended is a visit to Torres del Paine National Park with its unique geography. Make our way into the Cockburn Channel connecting the Strait of Magellan to the Beagle Channel, named after the HMS Beagle that carried Charles Darwin through this region and on to the Galápagos Islands. Finish the day cruising through Glacier Alley, an extraordinary piece of nature with numerous tongues of glaciers that snake down to the sea.

Day 28: Ushuaia (B,L,D)

The southernmost town in the world, where dominating peaks loom on three sides and the fourth opens to the Beagle Channel. Ushuaia is a quaint town perfect for exploring on foot.

Day 29: Cape Horn (B,L,D)

Known as a landmark in cruising and navigation, Cape Horn is the most southerly mainland point in the world.

Day 30: Canal Sarmiento & Amalia Glacier (B,L,D)

Continue through the iconic and breath-taking scenery of the Chilean Fjords. Be among the lucky few to spend a glorious day scenic cruising through Tierra del Fuego and the snow-capped peaks and ethereal blue glaciers of Canal Sarmiento. This majestic waterway is surrounded by other-worldly beauty, watch as Amalia Glacier comes into view and witness countless seabirds that make their home in this dramatic landscape.

Day 31: Chilean Fjords (B,L,D)

Sail through the beautiful maze of islets known as the Chilean Fjords. Renowned as being some of the most spectacular in the world and rivalling those of Norway and Alaska, this region consists of a 1,000-mile maze of virgin-forested islands, glistening glaciers and beautifully sculpted mountains.

Day 32: Puerto Montt (B,L,D)

Puerto Montt is the gateway to the scenic Lakes District and contains a series of pine forests, icy lakes, Bavarian hamlets and snow-capped volcanoes.

Day 33: At Sea (B,L,D)

Spend the day cruising the coast of Chile reflecting on all the marvels you have seen and experienced.

Day 34: Valparaiso - Santiago, Chile (B,D)

Disembark in the morning at Valparaiso and bid farewell to your crew. Valparaiso is a steep amphitheatre renowned for its brightly coloured residences and church steeples. UNESCO has declared it a World Heritage site. Ride one of the city's many funiculars and take in the views. Transfer to Santiago, the country's capital. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner.
