    Welcome to Tuscany. You will be met at Florence International Airport and transferred o your centrally located hotel. Tonight enjoy a welcome drink and dinner with your Tour Director and fellow travellers.

  • Day 2 Florence

    Meet your local guide this morning for a guided walking tour of Florence. Visit the Academy of Fine Arts to admire the Statue of David by Michelangelo. Continue and visit the Duomo with its spectacular exterior of marble panels. Also see Giotto’s Belltower, Brunelleschi’s Dome and Ghiberties ‘Gates of Paradise’. Enjoy time at leisure for the rest of the day to shop for leather and stroll the tiny laneways of the city.

  • Day 3 Pisa – San Gimignano

    After a leisurely morning in Florence for some last minute shopping, board your coach for the journey to the Tuscan coastline and the once maritime city of Pisa, where we visit the Square of Miracles with its classic cathedral and see the famous leaning bell tower. Later head into the Tuscan hills to San Gimignano and check into your hotel with views of the surrounding countryside. Tonight, dinner is included in the hotel.

  • Day 4 Siena – San Gimignano

    After breakfast it’s a short drive to Siena, the former capital of Tuscany, still standing as a medieval showcase of Tuscan architecture. Admire the interior of the Cathedral, with the Piccolomini Library, then proceed to the Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. Enjoy free time for lunch and to further explore. Later, travel back to the medieval hilltop village of San Gimignano famous for its many intact towers that have stood since the middle ages. Perhaps try some of the town’s famous cured wild boar as you stroll the many shops and enjoy the stunning views of the Tuscan countryside from the town’s elevated view points. You’re Invited: Dinner hosted by a local family at a traditional farmhouse.

  • Day 5 Montepulciano & Assisi

    Visit the fascinating hill top town of Montepulciano, surrounded by massive fortifications still in place, then travel onto the mystical town of Assisi, perched on Mount Subiaso overlooking Perugia and the surrounding countryside. Your guided walking tour includes the Basilica of St. Francis along with other historic landmarks.

  • Day 6 Assisi – Milan

    Travel north to the town of Modena where we visit the Balsamic Vinegar ‘Fattoria’ and learn all about its production over an included tasting. Then continue north to the vibrant city of Milan, famous for fashion and lifestyle, nestled at the foot of the Italian Alps.

  • Day 7 Milan

    Join your local guide for a city tour of Milan, Italy’s smartest and most dynamic city. Visit the magnificent Duomo, the third largest church in Europe, the Opera House and the Vittorio Emanuele Gallery. Later, perhaps indulge in some shopping at the ‘Quadrilatero della Moda’ Milan’s high fashion district known for its fashion industry, the city boasts many of Italy’s famous brands. Dinner tonight is included in your hotel.

  • Day 8 Milan – Basel Embarkation

    This morning, travel north through the beautiful European Alps, passing through numerous tunnels and mountain passes. Enjoy time at leisure for lunch in the lakeside town of Lucerne before arriving in Basel. A warm welcome awaits you from your Captain and crew as you board your Emerald Waterways Star Ship. After boarding, enjoy some free time to get acquainted with your ship. This evening join your fellow travellers for a cocktail reception followed by a welcome dinner.

  • Day 9 Breisach

    Today you have a choice to commence your magical morning with a visit to the Vogtsbauernhof Museum, an open air exhibition of sixteenth century life, featuring a number of reconstructed Black Forest farms. Alternatively, take part in the Emerald Active hike.

  • Day 10 Kehl - Strasbourg

    Once docked in Kehl you will be transferred by coach across the river to Strasbourg, the capital city of the Alsace Region in France. Your guided walking tour will include the Grande Ile, the historical city centre and UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its medieval black and white timber framed buildings, old tanning houses, baroque sandstones buildings, canals and river locks. Your afternoon is free to continuing exploring Strasbourg.

  • Day 11 Mannheim – Heidelberg

    Continue downstream to the town of Mannheim, located at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar rivers. There you will visit the medieval town of Heidelberg including the impressive castle which overlooks the town. Enjoy free time there before returning to the ship for lunch and an afternoon sailing.

  • Day 12 Koblenz

    Cruise to the 2000 year old town of Koblenz, which is situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Visit the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress on the opposite side of the river. This fortress was part of the Prussian defences against the French in the 19th century and later used as a headquarters for the American military during WWII.

  • Day 13 Cologne

    Founded by the Romans, Cologne is one of Germany's oldest and is famous for its magnificent World–Heritage listed Gothic Cathedral. Join your local guide for an included tour of the Old Town, with free time for exploring. Cologne is one of Germany's largest and most modern cities largely due to a rebuilding plan post WWII, and it has many different museums and galleries including a Roman artefact museum. This evening join your Captain for a farewell reception and dinner.

  • Day 14 Amsterdam

    This morning you can decide to either enjoy a glass top canal boat tour through Amsterdam’s canal or a guided bike tour.
