After breakfast it’s a short drive to Siena, the former capital of Tuscany, still standing as a medieval showcase of Tuscan architecture. Admire the interior of the Cathedral, with the Piccolomini Library, then proceed to the Piazza del Campo, one of the most beautiful squares in Europe. Enjoy free time for lunch and to further explore. Later, travel back to the medieval hilltop village of San Gimignano famous for its many intact towers that have stood since the middle ages. Perhaps try some of the town’s famous cured wild boar as you stroll the many shops and enjoy the stunning views of the Tuscan countryside from the town’s elevated view points.
