  • Day 1 Cape Town

    Welcome to South Africa, and to the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a welcome briefing from your Tour Director.

  • Day 2 Cape Town

    Today explore the beautiful Cape Peninsula. Enjoy the spectacular views from the summit of Cape Point which looks out over the Cape of Good Hope, then visit Boulders Beach, home to the protected land based colony of African penguins. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Simons Town, where southern right whales can often be seen in the bay (seasonal).

  • Day 3 Cape Town

    Enjoy a city tour including a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting), and a tour of the old colonial area finishing at the V&A Waterfront. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the Waterfront and city centre markets.

  • Day 4 Cape Town – Knysna

    Travel through the mountains of the Western Cape, passing through Grabouw famous for apple production and vineyards, then along the beautiful Garden Route to Knysna where your hotel is located on the waterfront overlooking Knysna lagoon. There are plenty of quality restaurants in the area for you to enjoy a free night dining.

    Today is at leisure for you to enjoy the trendy shops and lovely views that Knsyna has to offer.

  • Day 6 Knysna – Addo Elephant National Park

    Continue along the Garden Route through Plettenberg Bay and the beautiful Tsitsikamma Rainforest before arriving at Addo. With uninterrupted views of the Karoo Plains and the Zuurberg Mountains, your lodge lies in a private concession to the north of Addo Elephant National Park, the third largest national park in South Africa.

  • Day 7 Addo Elephant National Park

    An early start for your morning game drive in open safari four wheel drive vehicles. Look out for close up photo opportunities of the ‘Big Five’. Return to the lodge for a buffet breakfast before some free time to relax. In the early afternoon, enjoy a traditional African high tea before afternoon game drive.

  • Day 8 Port Elizabeth – Durban

    This morning take advantage of a further gamedrive (extra expense booked on tour) or relax in the lovely surrounds of your lodge and enjoy a late breakfast before checking out. Leaving Addo, we drive to Port Elizabeth airport for your flight to Durban (flight not included, book flight after 1:00pm).

  • Day 9 Drakensberg – Cathedral Peak

    Travel north into the magnificent World Heritage listed Drakensberg Ranges and through stunning mountain scenery, perched on the slopes of the 3004 metre Cathedral Peak. The Drakensberg Park is one of the most densely painted regions in Africa. Nestled in the unspoiled surroundings of the Drakensberg Ranges lies the Cathedral Peak Hotel, one of South Africa’s premier resort destinations.

  • Day 10 Drakensberg

    Today is at leisure for you to enjoy the magnificent surroundings of the Drakensberg Ranges. Simply relax in the perfectly manicured grounds or take a local excursion to see rock paintings or perhaps a bush trek to stunning viewpoints.

  • Day 11 Drakensberg – Swaziland

    Travel north through Natal, into the independent kingdom of Swaziland, where your hotel is located in a picturesque valley.

  • Day 12 Swaziland – Kruger National Park

    After a leisurely morning, leave the tiny kingdom and return to South Africa. Continuing into the lowveld region, arrive at the world famous Kruger National Park, one of Africa’s oldest National Parks and home to many hundreds of species of cats, antelope, as well as the ‘Big Five’. Drive by coach through the park to your hotel where you will enjoy an outdoor ‘boma’ highlight dinner (weather permitting) to taste some of the delights of Africa.

  • Day 13 Kruger National Park

    Start early this morning for our included game drive in open safari vehicles, including light refreshments along the way. On return you enjoy a full buffet breakfast and free time to enjoy the facilities of the lodge. A light bush lunch is included before your afternoon game drive commence. Tonight enjoy another ‘boma’ African style dinner (weather permitting) under the stars.

  • Day 14 Kruger National Park

    Relax this morning at the lodge with a late breakfast before departing for the picturesque town of Hazyview. You’re Invited: Visit Elephant Whispers, a project dedicated to securing the future of the African elephant. Experienced elephant handlers share their in-depth knowledge and you get a chance to get up close to these amazing animals.

  • Day 15 Panorama Route – Johannesburg

    Travel along the ‘Panorama Route’ and view the stunning Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world, and one of Africa’s natural treasures. Visit the Bourke’s Luck Potholes and stop at World’s View. Leave the great escarpment behind and continue onto the ‘city of gold’, Johannesburg.

  • Day 16 Johannesburg – Victoria Falls – Elephant Valley

    Morning transfer to the airport to meet your flight (flight not included) to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. On arrival tour one of the Seven  Wonders of the World, and one of the most spectacular natural sites, Victoria Falls. You’re Invited: Visit Chinotimba township to experience life in a truly African community. Later travel just across the Botswana border to your lodge at Elephant Valley, located around a waterhole frequently visited by wildlife. Tonight enjoy an outdoor ‘boma’ highlight dinner (weather permitting).

  • Day 17 Chobe National Park

    This morning is your cruise on the Chobe River, where hippo, elephant and buffalo inhabit the shallow waterways. Later enjoy lunch at the lodge and game drive along the banks of the Chobe River.

  • Day 18 Botswana – Johannesburg

    After a leisurely morning, transfer to the airport for your flight (flight not included, book after midday) to Johannesburg.

  • Day 19 Johannesburg – Nairobi

    Join your flight (not included) to Nairobi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a welcome briefing from your Tour Director.

  • Day 20 Nairobi to Amboseli

    Drive south to Amboseli National Park and check into your lodge spectacularly located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. After lunch at the lodge enjoy a game drive through the open savanna which is home to large herds of elephant and buffalo, whilst the swamp areas are populated by hippo pods. Dinner tonight is on the deck of the lodge.

  • Day 21 Amboseli

    Morning and evening game drives in this remarkable reserve known as a photographers paradise with the most popular displays of wildlife including lion, elephant, leopard, cheetah, buffalo and a host of antelope and bird species including 47 different varieties of raptor. You’re Invited: Visit a traditional Maasai village and be welcomed by the village chief to experience a culture famous for its close relationship with wildlife and the earth. Enjoy lunch and bush BBQ dinner with sunset views across the savanna plains.

  • Day 22 Amboseli to Lake Naivasha

    Relax and enjoy breakfast at the lodge, then travel north stopping for lunch in Nairobi, before heading along Kenya’s great escarpment to Lake Naivasha and the Great Rift Valley. Supplied by fresh water from the escarpment, the lake is 146 square kilometres and home to a large variety of life including a sizeable population of hippo. Your lodge tonight is set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, with resident giraffe, hippo, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkey.

  • Day 23 Lakes Area

    Depart the lodge after breakfast for a game drive at Lake Nakuru, whose ecosystem comprises of the lake surrounded by wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide diversity of species with flamingos being the main attractions of the area. The surrounding basin supports white rhino and buffalo and over 450 species of terrestrial birds. The area is the centre of a conservation project to maintain Kenya’s natural habitats and encourage people to respect the wildlife. Lunch is included at the Lion Hill Lodge located on the rim of the lake.

  • Day 24 Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara

    After breakfast, visit Crescent Island, a wildlife sanctuary on the eastern shore of Lake Naivasha and enjoy a walk in a tranquil environment. Travel south towards Tanzania into the Masai Mara National Reserve which covers some 1500 square kilometres adjoining the Serengeti National Park across the border. The park has a very high density of lion, leopard and cheetah and is one of the best places in Africa to see these big cats all year round. During the months of July to October, millions of wildebeest, impala and zebra cross the border into the Masai Mara in search of water, in what is known as the Great Migration. Enjoy a buffet dinner at your lodge situated in the heart of the national park.

  • Day 25 Masai Mara National Reserve

    Enjoy morning and evening extended game drives through the Masai Mara which is situated in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grasslands, home to large herds of zebra, impala, antelope and gazelle. Giraffe search for lush foliage and hippos populate the streams and waterholes, all looked on by lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena. The lodge hosts an outdoor ‘boma’ dinner where you can taste African specialties and experience the night sounds of the wild.

    Continue to enjoy morning and evening extended game drives through the Masai Mara.

  • Day 27 Masai Mara to Nairobi

    This morning, a final chance to take a game drive or simply enjoy a relaxing morning and lunch at the lodge. Later travel back to Nairobi where you are treated to a final night African feast at Nyama Choma Ranch including a performance with local dancers.
