13 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Adelaide > Wilpena Pound

    Welcome to Adelaide (Please book flights to arrive by 8am). Leave the city behind for the Flinders Ranges and the outback. On the way visit the wine growing region of the Clare Valley with a stop at a local winery and a chance to try their famous Riesling wines. Continuing north we pass through Peterborough and Orroroo, after which you’ll see the beginnings of the beautifully coloured ridges of the Flinders Ranges. From here we follow the line of the range to Wilpena pound. This majestic natural Amphitheatre is a lost world inside a giant stone crater.

  3. Day 3 - Wilpena Pound > Port Augusta

    Visit the historic town of Quorn, its old style charm has seen Quorn chosen the setting for historic scenes for many movies. Our home for tonight is Port Augusta situated on the quiet waterways of the Spencer Gulf. Visit the Wadlata Outback Centre and then travel through the “Tunnel of life" in the outback.

  4. Day 4 - Port Augusta> Coober Pedy

    Heading North through the centre of Australia our first stop today is Woomera. Visit the Woomera Rocket Range Museum and learn about this part of Australia’s history. Traveling through salt lake country to the underground town of Coober Pedy where a guided tour will show you what life is like underground.

  5. Day 5 - Coober Pedy > Uluru

    Leaving South Australia today we cross the border to the Northern Territory, entering Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and the “Red Centre” of Australia, Uluru for the first time. You’re Invited: Enjoy the changing colours of Uluru over an evening beverage while looking out into the sunset.

  6. Day 6 - Uluru

    Start the day filled with wonder as the sun rises over Uluru. See Mutitjulu waterhole and visit the cultural centre. Discover the mysteries of Kata Tjuta and Walpa Gorge during an afternoon visit. This evening see the Field of Light Art installation come to light. The Field of Light is 50 000 frosted glass spheres of light in colours of ochre, deep violet, blue and white.

    View Uluru and Kata Tjuta from the air or take a sunrise Uluru Base Trek tour or a Desert Camel Ride (weight restrictions apply) through the Red Desert landscape (must be pre-booked, own expense).

  7. Day 7 - Uluru > Kings Canyon

    Travel to the rugged Kings Canyon. Walk along the canyon floor for a relaxed walk or climb to the rim of the canyon for spectacular views of Watarrka National Park.

  8. Day 8 - Kings Canyon > Alice Springs

    Pass the breathtaking MacDonnell Ranges as you approach Alice Springs, Australia’s most famous outback town. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service and learn what an important role this service plays in outback life.

  9. Day 9 - Alice Springs

    Visit Anzac Hill for a panoramic view of Alice Springs before an Aboriginal Cultural tour to the Alice Springs Desert Park. Visit Alice Springs School of the Air established in 1951 to provide educational service and activities to isolated school children.

  10. Day 10 - Alice Springs > Tennant Creek

    Continuing north on the Sturt Highway see Wycliffe Well, the UFO capital of Australia. Discover the Karlu Karlu / Devils Marbles. Standing up to 6 metres high and formed millions of years ago they continue to crack and change. The Warmungu Aboriginal People believe them to be the fossilized eggs of the Rainbow serpent.

  11. Day 11 - Tennant Creek > Katherine

    Visit the famous Daly Waters Pub and the collection of what previous guests have left behind. Visit Mataranka thermal springs, made famous in the novel We of the Never Never .

  12. Day 12 - Katherine > Darwin

    Cruise past the sheer sandstone cliffs of the Katherine Gorge located in Nitmiluk National Park, located on the lands of the Jawoyn people. Learn about their association with this land on your two-gorge cruise Our final stop is the cosmopolitan city of Darwin the capital of the Northern Territory. Enjoy a farewell dinner and reminisce with your new found friends.

  13. Day 13 - Darwin

    Its time to head home taking with you wonderful memories of the Centre of Australia.
