40 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Arrive Vancouver

    Welcome to Canada! You will be met at Vancouver International Airport and transferred to your hotel. This evening, meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner.

  2. Day 2 - Vancouver Sightseeing

    Set off on a sightseeing tour of Vancouver including Stanley Park, famous for its totem poles, the waterfront and Gastown. Visit Capilano Suspension Bridge Park suspended 70 metres above the river. Walk amongst the canopy on the award winning Treetops Adventure.

  3. Day 3 - Rocky Mountaineer – Kamloops

    Set off on a two day rail experience on ‘The Most Spectacular Train Journey in the World’. Settle back in your SilverLeaf carriage (upgrade to GoldLeaf at additional expense). Travel through the Fraser Valley then follow the Thompson River towards Kamloops.

  4. Day 4 - Rocky Mountaineer – Banff

    Continue your journey into the soaring, rugged snow-capped mountains. Marvel at the beauty of the glaciers, lakes and forest sitting at the foot of these grand mountains. Arrive in Banff, a picturesque town located within Banff National Park and the quintessential Rocky Mountains town.

  5. Day 5 - Banff

  6. Day 6 - Banff – Lake Louise – Emerald Lake

    Start the day with a tour of Banff including the Bow River, the Hoodoos and Bow Falls. Continue along the Trans-Canada Highway past Castle Mountain and Mount Temple to Lake Louise, the “Diamond in the Wilderness”. Enjoy some free time taking in the spectacular scenery.
    Your destination today is Emerald Lake, so named because of the vibrant colour of its glacier fed waters.  Your serene lodge sits right on the shores of the lake surrounded by towering peaks and forests.

  7. Day 7 - Glacier ‘Ice Explorer’ – Jasper

    This morning, we travel north along the Icefields Parkway, acclaimed as one of the most spectacular journeys in the world. Enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery as you pass rugged peaks and glaciers fringed by thick forest and shimmering lakes. We make a stop at the Columbia Icefield, North America’s largest sub-polar ice pack, where you’ll climb aboard the ‘Ice Explorer’ for a once-in-a-lifetime journey onto the mighty 300 metre thick Athabasca Glacier. The day’s end finds us in Jasper National Park, an alpine wonderland of pristine wilderness and abundant wildlife. You’re Invited: Walk above the Rockies deepest canyon; Maligne Canyon, then dine at Wilderness Kitchen an original Canadian smokehouse located at the canyon trailhead. This is an authentic experience which goes beyond the table and the stories of Maligne come alive with a special horns and antler presentation.

  8. Day 8 - Jasper – Sun Peaks

    Bid farewell to Jasper as we make our way out of the beautiful Jasper National Park. Enjoy views of the towering 3,954 metre Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Weave through lush forests, winding rivers and jewelled lakes before arriving in the picturesque ski resort village of Sun Peaks. You’re Invited: This evening, enjoy a Fur Traders feast and storytelling accompanied by a tranquil canoe journey.

  9. Day 9 - Sun Peaks – Whistler

    Travel through scenic landscapes past the town of Lillooet to the charming alpine resort of Whistler.

  10. Day 10 - Georgia Strait – Victoria

    Opportunity to take a one hour floatplane flight over the Georgia Strait to Victoria (seasonal, must be pre-booked, additional cost).

    Travel along the Sea to Sky Highway following the rugged coastline, stopping at the awesome Shannon Falls. Board the BC ferry and cruise through the Georgia Strait to Vancouver Island before arriving into Victoria, British Columbia’s capital.

  11. Day 11 - Victoria Sightseeing – Butchart Gardens

  12. Day 12 - Vancouver – 7 Night Alaskan Cruise

    Surrounded by the Gastineau Channel, the Mendenhall Glacier and Juneau Icefields, Alaska’s capital is famed for its scenery and isolation.

  16. Day 16 - Skagway

    Established in 1897 as a trading post for prospectors headed to the Klondike Gold Rush, Skagway’s colourful past is carefully preserved in the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park.

  17. Day 17 - Glacier Bay

    Enter the iceberg-strewn waters of Glacier Bay National Park, where spectacular glaciers flow into the bay. A National Park Ranger will help you spot wildlife, while explaining glacial activity.

  18. Day 18 - College Fjord

    Within Prince William Sound lies College Fjord and its collection of glaciers, some reaching forty stories above sea level, dwarfing even the largest of cruise ships.

  19. Day 19 - Seward – Anchorage

    Disembark and enjoy a scenic rail journey aboard the cruisetrain. Glaciers, canyons, waterfalls and spectacular scenery await at every turn.

  20. Day 20 - Anchorage – Denali State Park

    Get our first taste of the vast natural beauty of Alaska as we travel north from Anchorage to Denali State Park. Visit the quaint and quirky town of Talkeetna, and if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of impressive Mt. Denali.

  21. Day 21 - McKinley Explorer Train – Denali

    Relax and soak up the surroundings on board the full-dome McKinley Explorer to Denali National Park. This evening is a Music of Denali Dinner Show.

  22. Day 22 - Denali National Park

    Denali is deep in the Alaskan wilderness and this unique location gives you the opportunity to witness the fascinating landscape and wildlife. Embark on a wilderness tour which takes you  into the park for a once in a lifetime experience. Later, experience the call of the wild during an incredible visit to a renowned Husky Homestead run by Iditarod Champion Jeff King, and his amazingly cuddly pups and learn what goes into creating a winning team.

  23. Day 23 - Denali - Fairbanks

    Continue your journey into the heart of the last frontier, Fairbanks. Known as the “Golden Heart City”, Fairbanks has a prominent Gold Rush history.  Board an authentic sternwheeler for a unique cruise along one of Alaska’s great rivers Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner.

Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner.

  27. Day 27 - New England – Montréal

    Travel through the states of Vermont and New Hampshire, passing through Franconia Notch and the picturesque White Mountains, which come alive during the autumn foliage. Pass into Canada and the French-Canadian province of Québec. We continue our journey to the quintessentially French city of Montréal. Montréal is a slice of old Europe mixed with contemporary design, where rich history and culture meet chic modernism. A simple stroll can lead you past 18th Century facades of old Montréal in one step and glittering skyscrapers and modern sculpture in the next.

  28. Day 28 - Montréal Sightseeing

    Today, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city, viewing the Olympic Complex, Notre Dame Cathedral, an intricate and historical basilica built in gothic style, then soak up the fantastic views of the city skyline from the parklands of Mt. Royal. This afternoon is at leisure to explore this historic and vibrant city.

  29. Day 29 - Montréal – Québec City

    Continue along the picturesque St. Lawrence River and follow the scenic “Chemin du Roy” (King’s Road), the oldest roadway in Canada before arriving at a traditional Québécois Sugar Shack. You’re Invited: Enjoy French Canadian country charm and hospitality and learn how to make maple candy, then partake in a delicious French Canadian lunch that showcases the local country cuisine. Visit Deschambault, a quaint village along the St. Lawrence River, then follow the historic “New France Route” to Québec City, the UNESCO World Heritage Site spectacularly perched atop Cap Diamant. French is the primary language in this unique city, founded in 1608 as a trading post. Arrive into Québec City in the afternoon and meet our local guide for a tour of The Plains of Abraham, the Citadel and Parliament buildings. You will then embark on a walking tour within the walls of the Vieux Carré (Old City) and visit Lower Town. This is truly a remarkable city, every building in Old Québec tells a story and every square exudes the spirit of New France with a history dating back many hundreds of years.

    Leaving old-world Québec behind, we drive through rolling countryside following the St. Lawrence River to Canada’s national capital, Ottawa. Visit the Canadian Museum of History, Canada’s largest cultural institution. You’re Invited: Outside the museum is a First Nations camp. Here you will partake in an informative tour of the Native village, then witness a vibrant performance of traditional styles of Pow Wow dancing. Finish the evening dining in the museum.

  32. Day 32 - Ottawa Sightseeing – Toronto

    This morning, our local guide joins us for a tour of Ottawa, famous for its stately boulevards, imposing buildings and tulip filled gardens during spring. See the green-peaked roofs of the Parliament Buildings, City Hall and the National Gallery. We view the residences of the Prime Minister and the Governor General, the Royal Canadian Mint and the Rideau Canal. Travel through the beautiful Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River and along the shores of Lake Ontario to Toronto.

  33. Day 33 - Toronto

    Start the day with a journey to the top of CN Tower, the tallest free-standing tower in the Americas, for some spectacular views over Toronto. Visit Canada’s majestic castle, Casa Loma and step back in time to a period of European elegance and splendour. Enjoy a tour of the castle and free time to explore the magnificent gardens.

    Visit the historic and beautifully preserved village of Niagara-on-the-Lake before continuing our journey to one of the most spectacular natural sights of North America, Niagara Falls. A highlight today is a thrilling cruise which takes you through churning waters past the American and Bridal Veil Falls and into the inside curve of Horseshoe Falls. Get up close to one of the most incredible waterfalls in the world and feel the mist washing over you on this magnificent cruise. Continue our journey to the exciting and vibrant New York City. A visit to the bustling and iconic “Big Apple” is a must on any trip to the USA and this thriving city will no doubt live up to its reputation.
