Welcome to Porto. You will be met at the airport and transferred to the ship where a warm welcome awaits you from your Captain and crew as you board your luxury Emerald Radiance river cruise ship. Tonight, enjoy dinner on board with your fellow travellers. Your Cruise Director will also conduct a port talk to review the activities and itinerary for the days ahead.

Today, enjoy a full day sailing the windy turns and twists of the Douro Valley. A UNESCO world heritage site this area is sparsely populated by small quaint villages and typical communities working vineyards and small farms. In the afternoon, your Cruise Director will host a lecture on board showcasing the history and wine culture of the region. Later, arrive in the village of Pinhão which is situated on a river bend surrounded by terraced hillsides producing some of the world’s best Port. Tonight, your captain will be delighted to host the welcome dinner and cocktail reception.

Begin your day with a visit to a beautiful Quinta vineyard in the heart of the Douro Valley. Alternatively, join the EmeraldACTIVE walk through the vineyards. Later, sail to Vega de Terrón, your gateway into Spain.

Founded in Roman times, the city of Salamanca is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe, the seat of the Spanish language, and still a lively student town. Board your coach this morning in Vega de Terrón and travel to this beautiful golden city for a guided walking tour passing through its grand squares and medieval structures, where you will feel like stepping back in time. Tapas bars feature on every street and traditional Spanish music trickles out of buzzing bars and restaurants. You will also have plenty of free time to explore independently before returning to the ship later this afternoon.

This morning, arrive in Pocinho and either embark on an excursion to the Côa Valley Museum or take part on the Emerald Active canoeing experience. The Côa Valley Museum is a concrete structure that details pre-historic stone carvings made by the early inhabitants of the Douro, which were uncovered during the construction of the nearby dam. Later return to your ship for lunch and enjoy your idyllic surroundings as you sail towards Régua.

After breakfast disembark your ‘Star-Ship’ and transfer to Porto Airport (flight not included). You will be met at Split airport and transferred to Trogir to board your private yacht, where a warm welcome awaits you from your Captain and crew. The evening is yours to settle into your sumptuous cabin aboard our exclusively-chartered boutique yacht. Get to know your fellow guests or take the opportunity to explore the local surroundings as we dock overnight.

Start your day with a guided tour of Trogir. Its small, historic town centre resembles that of an outdoor museum, and the medieval streets boast magnificent Romanesque churches, as well as beautiful examples of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Later, sail towards one of the oldest towns on the Adriatic Cost, Šibenik. Boasting fantastic monuments, dating back to Venetian times, like that of the marble Cathedral of St. James, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

A short distance from the small town of Skradin, Krka National Park, named after the Krka River, covers an area of just over 142 square km and includes two thirds of the river itself. The top attraction of the park is its magnificent waterfalls, including the famous Skradinski Buk falls which are one of Croatia’s most famous sights. You can even swim in some parts of the park, so be sure to pack your swimwear. After the tour, return to the ship for an afternoon cruising.

Enjoy a guided tour of Hvar. With its beautiful fields of lavender and carefully cultivated vineyards, the island is considered to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Carpeting the hillsides around its cosy harbour are terracotta-roofed villas, Gothic palaces and 13th-century ramparts rising towards an impressive citadel. Visit the impressive bell towers of the Franciscan Monastery, St Mark’s Church and Cathedral of St Stephen, before returning to your ship for an afternoon of sailing towards Split. Croatia’s second-largest city and the largest city on the Adriatic coast, boasts a fantastic contrast of Roman and modern architecture.

Pucišca is a coastal town known for its white limestone, used to build part of the White House in Washington DC. For many generations, locals have been making use of the stone and, as part of your EmeraldPLUS included excursion, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a stonemason school. Founded in 1909 the school provides educational support for local students, producing quality religious icons, fountains, statues.

The island of Korcula is one of the greenest islands in the Adriatic Sea. Begin your day with a guided tour of the town, marveling at its typical medieval architecture, including ancient towers and red-roofed houses. Marco Polo, the famous worldtraveller and writer, as well as a Venetian merchant, is reputed to have been born in Korcula.

As the gatekeeper of Pelješac peninsula’s wine empire, Ston is a jewel of the Adriatic Coast. Begin your day with an included guided tour, including a wine-tasting session. Later, cruise to Dubrovnik and witness the beauty of its Old Town, its charm lying on its white limestone streets, Baroque buildings and ancient city walls. A UNESCO World Heritage site, known as ‘the pearl of the Adriatic’, Dubrovnik will be sure to amaze you.
