18 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Cape Town

    Welcome to South Africa, and the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a welcome briefing from your Tour Director.

  2. Day 2 - Cape Town

    Today, explore the beautiful Cape Peninsula. Enjoy spectacular views from the summit of Cape Point which looks out over the Cape of Good Hope, then visit Boulders Beach, home to the protected land based colony of African penguins. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Simons Town, where southern right whales can often be seen in the bay (seasonal).

  3. Day 3 - Cape Town

    Enjoy a city tour including a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting) and a tour of the old colonial area finishing at the V&A Waterfront. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to enjoy the lively atmosphere of the Waterfront and city centre markets.

  4. Day 4 - Cape Town – Knysna

    Travel through the mountains of the Western Cape, passing through Grabouw, famous for apple production and vineyards, then along the beautiful Garden Route to Knysna where your hotel is located on the waterfront overlooking Knysna lagoon. Enjoy a harbour cruise before choosing from the many quality restaurants in the area for your free night dining.

  5. Day 5 - Knysna – Greater Addo Elephant National Park

    Continue along the Garden Route through Plettenberg Bay and the beautiful Tsitsikamma Rainforest before arriving at Addo. Your lodge lies in a private concession to the north of Greater Addo Elephant National Park, the third largest national park in South Africa. This finely tuned ecosystem is sanctuary to elephant, lion, buffalo, black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, a variety of antelope and zebra species, as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.

  6. Day 6 - Greater Addo Elephant National Park

    An early start for your morning game drive in open safari four wheel drive vehicles. Look out for close up photo opportunities of the ‘Big Five’ elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. Return to the lodge for a buffet breakfast before some free time to relax and enjoy the facilities. In the early afternoon, enjoy a traditional African high tea before your afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge where dinner is included.

  7. Day 7 - Port Elizabeth – Durban

    Leaving Addo, drive to Port Elizabeth for your flight to Durban (flight not included, book flight after 1:00pm). Your hotel is in the lively Umhlanga waterfront area of Durban. Enjoy an included dinner in a local seafood restaurant.

  8. Day 8 - Durban – Cathedral Peak

    Travel north into the magnificent World Heritage listed Drakensberg Ranges before arriving at your hotel, perched on the slopes of the 3004 metre Cathedral Peak.

  9. Day 9 - Drakensberg

    Today is at leisure for you to enjoy the magnificent surroundings of the Drakensberg Ranges. Simply relax in the perfectly manicured grounds or perhaps take a bush trek to the stunning viewpoints.

  10. Day 10 - Drakensberg – Kingdom of eSwatini

    Travel north through Natal, into the independent Kingdom of eSwatini, where your hotel is located in a picturesque valley en route to Kruger National Park. Enjoy dinner tonight at the hotel.

  11. Day 11 - Kingdom of eSwatini – Kruger National Park

    After a leisurely morning, leave the tiny kingdom and return to South Africa. Continuing into the lowveld region, arrive at the world famous Kruger National Park, home to many hundreds of species of cats, antelope, as well as the ‘Big Five’. Drive by coach through the park to your hotel for an outdoor ‘boma’ highlight dinner (weather permitting) to taste some of the delights of Africa.

  12. Day 12 - Kruger National Park

    Spend today discovering what makes Kruger National Park so special during your game drive in customised open safari vehicles. Tonight, enjoy another ‘boma’ African style dinner (weather permitting) under the stars.

  13. Day 13 - Kruger National Park

    You’re Invited: Visit Elephant Whispers, a project dedicated to securing the future of the African elephant. Experienced elephant handlers share their in-depth knowledge and you get a chance to get up close to these amazing animals. Travel along the ‘Panorama Route’ and view the stunning Blyde River Canyon.

  14. Day 14 - Johannesburg

    Leaving the mountainous north-east, we travel to South Africa’s largest city Johannesburg.

  15. Day 15 - Johannesburg – Victoria Falls

    Depart the hotel this morning for your transfer to the airport to meet your flight (flight not included, book flight before 11:00am) to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. On arrival, visit one of the most spectacular natural sites, Victoria Falls. Enjoy a cruise on the Zambezi at sunset.

  16. Day 16 - Victoria Falls – Elephant Valley

    You’re Invited: Travel to Chinotimba township to experience life in a truly African community. Then travel just across the Botswana border to your lodge at Elephant Valley, located around a waterhole frequently visited by wildlife. Tonight, enjoy an included outdoor ‘boma’ dinner (weather permitting).

  17. Day 17 - Chobe National Park

  18. Day 18 - Botswana – Johannesburg

    After a leisurely morning, transfer to the airport for your flight (flight not included, book after midday) to Johannesburg. Transfer to your onward flight home or book extra nights in Johannesburg if required (book flight after 6:00pm).
